I have done a little experimentation into the area of green faux fur grass. Dye-na-flow has a wide assortment of greens. None of the greens are natural. I make green by mixing "Golden Yellow" and "Black". Mix a color solution of two parts yellow to one part black, experiment with the colors. The solution will not look like the finished color. Mix the color solution with four parts water. Use the other Dye-na-flow greens to change the shade. "Grizzly Fur" can be used for green but Joann Fabrics has a better fur.
The pile on this fabric is about 3/8" long. I tried it for dead grass. The fibers make a too lush appearance.
The Joann Fabrics short dyed with a 4:1 mix of green.

The Joann short dyed with a mixture of "Brown" and "Golden Yellow". It would make good wheat with Woodland Scenics Yellow Fine Turf sprinkled on top. Faux fur grass makes effects like paths in grass possible. This fur would never look dead.
Green grass looks better if leaves are added. I sprayed this grass with hair spray and sprinkled it with Woodland Scenics Green Blend Blended Turf. Other blended turfs can be used for different effects. Another good effect is to comb the blended turf into the grass with a comb after applying hair spray
There is also plush. It looks like low lush grass. It does not make good dead grass but looks like prairie grass. It does not need to be ironed. I got this at Joann Fabrics. If you deal with Joann Fabric they have discounts. Sign up for the mailing lists and get discounts of 40% off.
Walmart has a fur that makes perfect brush. It is too coarse for grass and when cut down has a fuzzy base.
