Hi.
I love your site on the fake fur grass. I can't remember if I already sent you this but I tried it about a year or so ago on a small module in Sn2. I used alcohol instead of water but otherwise I did much of what you have mentioned. I liked the brass color for a base. I then blended so other colors in and was able to do this once the fur was down on the layout in order to better blend the different patches together.
Some pictures are outside on the deck and others are inside.
